Wenguanguo ( Xanthoceras Sorbifolia ), sometimes Wenguangguo(文光果), Wenguanmu(文冠木) or Wendangezi(溫旦革子), are widely grown in Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu and Inner Mongolia of China.

Wenguanguo, a hard-shell fruit, was used to treat enuresis in children in ancient time. The fruit was also used to help victims of starvation in ancient time. Wenguanguo is neutral in nature, non-toxic, without any side-effect, edible for all age.
The effectiveness in treating bedwetting in children has been specified in the Chapter 1 of the Record of Nationalities Medicines (《民族藥志》).

Many studies have been conducted in Mainland China on the usage and application of Wenguanguo in treating urinary incontinence, nocturnal urination and enuresis, in which can:

According to TCM, micturition, urinary urge, enuresis and urinary incontinence are resulted from “kidney yang deficiency”, weakness of the fire element in acupoint Mingmen and bladder malfunction.
